#stop_sexting is a leading Ukrainian NGO dedicated to protecting children online, which has reached millions of Ukrainian families through educational and information campaigns. We created the country’s first online child safety hotline 1545 (3) and a psychological support line for children and parents on online risks on the website and in Telegram.
Vision
A world where every digital user feels safe, well-informed, and has access to mental health support in the digital age.
Mission
We build a system that protects the lives and mental well-being of digital users in Ukraine through educational and advocacy campaigns while providing support to victims, to ensure that the internet becomes a source of opportunities rather than a space of threats.
History of creation
The journey of our organization began in 2017 when our founder, Anastasiya Dzyakava, attended a Council of Europe conference. There, she saw a Europol video about online sexual abuse against children – a moment that became a turning point. She couldn’t stay silent. She translated the video into Ukrainian and shared it on Facebook, sparking widespread public attention. From that moment on, Anastasiya began actively raising awareness about online threats to children and ways to protect them.
Рarents, media, and educators started reaching out with questions. To provide answers, Anastasiya began delivering lectures for teachers, organizing meetings with parents, and publishing articles in major media outlets. However, it soon became clear that one voice was not enough – the demand for knowledge was growing.
This led to the first-ever lesson in Ukraine dedicated to protecting children from online sexual abuse, developed with the support of DataGroup and Vodafone. More than 1,000 teachers across the country conducted this lesson in their classrooms.
Shortly after, Anastasiya was invited to join an official government delegation to visit CEOP, the UK’s Child Exploitation and Online Protection unit, which specializes in investigating crimes against children. During this visit, she established partnerships with leading British organizations in the field of child online safety—alliances that remain strong to this day.
Along this journey, Anastasiya invited Polina Klykova to join her, and together they created Ukraine’s first online course for parents on child online safety. As their efforts grew, it became evident that individual initiatives were no longer enough—a systemic approach was needed. In 2020, in response to growing requests and feedback from parents, educators, and children, the #Stop_Sexting initiative was launched as a large-scale educational project. By 2022, the initiative had evolved into an independent organization, dedicated to protecting children from online sexual abuse, exploitation, and digital risks.
